About Project
When Irish indie-folk artist Kev Olden came to us with his single Footsteps, he had a strong sense of feeling he wanted to evoke: something raw, crisp, and quietly emotional. A sponsor had generously offered him a production studio with a cyc wall, and our task was to craft something meaningful within its minimal frame. Rather than treat the space as a limitation, we used it as part of the story. We imagined a small world floating in the void, a place between isolation and intimacy. A single overhead spotlight cast long shadows across the cyc, while a simple rug grounded the space in something soft and lived-in. It felt like memory. With a handheld approach, we moved slowly around him, giving the performance a sense of quiet motion and closeness. We captured multiple passes to support both the final edit and audio mix, locking in the rhythm and tone without ever interrupting the emotion. This piece is about presence. Nothing flashy, nothing added for the sake of it. Just a simple concept, executed with care.
